CESLAM, along with the Samata Foundation and Columbia University, conducted a research on Dalit migration. The research was undertaken between November 2012 and May 2013. As research on migration is limited in the Nepali context, the literature on the migration of Nepali Dalits is scarce. With this research, CESLAM aimed at building knowledge on the aspect of labour migration of Dalits. Further exploring on the issue, CESLAM conducted another study in Baglung district in May 2014, with a view of better understanding the linkages between caste-based discrimination and migration. With this follow-up study, CESLAM is also trying to draw a parallel line with the study conducted last year.
