The aim of ‘Assessing the Economic Contribution of Labour Migration in Developing Countries as Countries of Destination’ (ECLM) was to arrive at a reliable and evidence-based understanding of the economic impact of immigration in 10 low and middle-income countries, including Nepal. This study composed an overview of migrant workers in the trade and manufacturing sectors in Nepal to analyse the economic contribution of migrant workers in these sectors and explore why this contribution might be different from that of native workers.
