  • Migration Analysis in Nepal

    The objective of the study was to identify potential areas of migration in Nepal with linkages to GIZ’s bilateral programmes in Nepal, Inclusive Development of the Economy (INCLUDE) and Trade Promotion Program (TPP), assess risks and opportunities for both programmes to tap into a select number of districts in western Nepal. The study also provided recommendations on how to incorporate and implement the findings of the study into the framework of the two programmes.

    The overall objective of the project was to compile and critically analyse the existing state of knowledge on different forms of human trafficking and forced labour existing in Nepal and how this affects different groups of people within and outside the country. To fulfil the objective, extensive literature review and consultations with different stakeholders - government officials, policy-makers; practitioners, rights activists and journalists; representatives of national and international NGOs; and representatives of international organisations was carried out in Kathmandu as well as in four districts of western and far western Nepal.
