As part of its effort to engage with partners in the Arab region to promote the interest of migrant workers from South Asia, the newly-established South Asian Regional Trade Union Council (SARTUC), jointly with the ILO Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ILO/ACTRAV), is organising a workshop in Kathmandu on 16-19 September 2013. The meeting will bring together trade union representatives from Bahrain, Jordan, Oman and Lebanon, Kuwait; NGO representatives from these countries and Qatar; and national trade union centres from five countries in South Asia (Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan).
