Four Nepalis Arrested In Delhi

New Delhi, India: Four Nepali nationals, who worked as domestic helps, in various parts of New Delhi was arrested by the police here on Saturday.

The special staff of West Delhi police arrested the Nepalis including a convicted criminal named Buddhi Ram. The accused resorted to first gaining the confidence of the family and then run away with the family's jewellery and cash after drugging them, the police claimed.

The police said that Buddhi Ram was previously convicted for seven years for similar crimes. He used to plant his relatives as domestic helps in people's houses and as and when the gang thought it was the right time they would drug the family and then steal items.

Buddhi Ram supplied sedatives to the planted servants, who mixed it in the food. Three such incidents of house burglaries have been solved with their arrest, the additional commissioner of police (west) said.
The arrested are Buddhi Ram (47), Bikram (21), Bikas (26) and Jeevan Kumar (24) in the case. During interrogation, police said, Buddhi Ram disclosed that he came to India 12 years ago and started as a domestic help.

According to the police, Buddhi Ram used to call one of his receivers from Naraingarh in Nepal through Bikas. The gang also disclosed about commissioning of a house theft in Mianwali Nagar and Patel Nagar. Police said the gang was wanted in a case of burglary in a Vikaspuri house as well.
