Six kids rescued from Bangalore

As many as six minors from Rautahat district were rescued from a bag factory in Bangalore, on Friday. 

The kids, who were mentally and physically exploited at the factory, were rescued with the help of Justice and Care, an Indian NGO. 

The rescued minors, Anil Kumar Yadav, 15, of Santapur, Stad Hajam, 6, of Rajpur, Saddham Hussein, of Gaur, Moti Alam, 17, of Jamuniya, Jugan Musalman, 8, of Paurai, and Seraj Musalman, 11, of Rajpur, Rautahat, are being kept under the protection of CWIN Helpline, in Hetauda. 

According to one victim, one of the villagers had lured them across the border to work for Rs 80 weekly wage. 

Saddham, another victim, said “We were not allowed to go out, weren’t fed well and the master even beat us.” 

Jhabindra Gyawali, Programme Officer at CWIN, Hetauda, said preparations were under way to send the minors to their families. 

Justice and Care had handed the minor workers to Geeta Shrestha, District Child Welfare Committee, Parsa, Jhabindra Gyawali, CWIN Hetauda Programme Officer and representatives of Nepal Police, and Maiti Nepal, among others. Of the 11 rescued, five were handed over to their respective families in Bangalore.
