CA to collect feedback from Nepali compatriots abroad

Even Nepali people living abroad will be able to have their say over draft constitution as Constitution Assembly (CA) committee is making preparation for the purpose.

The CA Committee on Citizen Relations and Public Opinion Collection is going to set up a mechanism to receive feedback on the constitution draft from the Nepalis living abroad via email, telephone and letters. The first CA formed in 2008 had also made such provision to collect suggestions from the Nepali citizens abroad to be included in the new constitution. 

A meeting of Internal Work Procedure and Action Plan Drafting sub-committee on Monday also decided to coordinate with Nepali missions abroad to collects the comments and suggestions for the purpose. The representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MoFA) and Ministry of Labor and Employment(MoLE) invited in the meet had suggested the committee on how to mobilize the Nepali missions and Labour Attaches working in foreign land for the collection of the opinions of the Nepali compatriots working abroad over the new constitution. 

Joint Secretary Surya Prasad Shrestha and Undersecretary Buddi Nath Bhattarai at MoLE informed that the ministry would work as a focal point in the coordination of the feedbacks collection from abroad. MoFA undersecretary Bishnu Prasad Gautam also expressed ministry’s readiness to work with CA to achieve the end regarding the issue.
