He also completed a master’s in English and a bachelor’s in English and Political Science from Tribhuvan University. For his doctoral dissertation, he explored how/whether women’s participation in international labour migration restructures the dominant discourse on female migration in Nepal. More >

    Bhimkala Limbu Bhim Kala Limbu holds a master’s in Anthropology from Tribhuvan University, and a bachelor’s in English and Sociology from Mahendra Multiple Campus, Dharan, Nepal. She is involved in research relating to migration, labour, and gender, among others. Bhim Kala has extensive field experience and has previously worked as field researcher for the Centre for Economic Development and Administration, Tribhuvan University, and as field surveyor for the Nepal Centre for Contemporary Studies.     Rajita Dhungana Rajita Dhungana has a master’s in Development Studies from Kathmandu University. Prior to working at CESLAM, she worked at a non-government organisation in programmes related to migration and emergency relief response. After joining CESLAM, she has worked as a field researcher for women, work and violence, and women's migration projects. Her primary interests are in qualitative research studies, mostly in the sector of gender and migration. More >

    Ratna Kambang Ratna Kumari Kambang completed her master's in Sociology from Tribhuvan University. She has extensive research experience in a wide range of topics including labour migration, disaster, and gender. Prior to joining CESLAM, she worked as field researcher for the Social Inclusion Atlas and Ethnographic Profiles project and as a field research supervisor on the School to Work Transition Survey (2013) at the Centre for Economic Development and Administration, Tribhuvan University. At CESLAM, she is currently engaged in research focusing on agriculture and labour migration, as well as educational migration from Nepal. She is also the Managing Editor of the Social Science Baha Newsletter (bi-monthly). She has previously conducted research on entrepreneurship, youth employment, and evidence-based policy-making.     Sudeshna Thapa Sudeshna Thapa is a human rights lawyer and holds an LLM in International Human Rights Law from Lund University, Sweden. Her area of interest and specialisation include international migration and labour laws. She has previously worked as research assistant to the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Toxics. As part of her responsibilities, she was involved in research and writing on the human rights implications of exposure to toxic and hazardous substances on particular groups, such as workers and indigenous communities.
