Ghale to run for NRNA president once again

Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Shesh Ghale has announced he will run for the association’s top post once again in October. The NRNA is scheduled to hold its 7th General Assembly and International Global Conference 2015 in October.

Addressing a programme organised by the NRNA-UK on Thursday in London, Australia-based Ghale
announced his decision.

“As I have been suggested to continue with the presidency during my visit to a number of countries for the last few weeks, I have declared my presidency from London,” he said.

“As there are a number of projects and programmes started during my tenure, which need to be completed, I have been urged to take the leadership once again by the NRNA community.”

He said the country is in the reconstruction phase after the earthquake and the promulgation of the new constitution is likely to take the country towards a new direction. In this scenario, the responsibility of the NRNA would be more vital, he said.

Ghale’s Melbourne Institute of Technology Group Foundation in January had announced the largest ever charity of Rs1 billion to be spent on education and health sectors in Nepal’s remote corners.
Founder of the MIT Group Foundation, Ghale and his wife Jamuna Gurung have a combined wealth of $265 million.
