A Nepali student at Jawaharlal Nehru University has been taken into detention based on a complaint lodged by an assistant professor at the varsity. Pramod Jaiswal, who recently completed his PhD research, was accused by the woman of assuring her of marriage and raping her. Local media, however, said Jaiswal had earlier filed a complaint at the university accusing her of conspiring to force him into marrying her.
