Nepali’s death sentence upheld

The High Court of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has upheld a lower court decision of death penalty against Anis Khaling Rai of Nepal. Rai, 23, from Matsyapokharai of Shankhuwasabha, was handed down the death sentence after the lower court found him guilty of murdering Pakistani citizen Bangal Khan. Rai had arrived in Dubai for employment. Back home, Rai’s family has appealed the government authorities, right activists and journalists for his safe release. Tara Man Gurung and Dipak Khadka, lawmakers  from Sankhuwasabha,  have requested government save Rai. (RSS)
