New arrangement to address complaints, issues of Nepali living abroad

Kathmandu, April 4: The Department of Consular Services has launched a new module (online system) to register the complaints and issues of Nepali living abroad through respective embassies from Thursday.

Inaugurating the online system to register the complaints and issues of Nepal living abroad amid a program organized in the department on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, said that many are compelled to go to the department in person frequently to register complaints and problems because of lack of publicity or knowledge about the prevalence of online system registration, there is a need for an extensive publicity campaign to make it well-known.

He mentioned that the consular service can be received by filling out forms from rural municipalities, and municipalities. After filling out the form, the department will immediately take it to implementation.

He said that the new module that started on Thursday enables all people inside and outside the country to receive services online.

DPM Shrestha said, “Even though we have made consular services to be received from home, many people still visit in person in lack of understanding or lack of enough publicity. Not only do they come to the department, but they ask for government officials, sometimes even pleading with ministers to listen to their problems. Now, we do not have to do any such thing. We can receive consular service even from the comfort of our village by filling out an online form. The implementation process immediately and move forward lawfully. Along with this, Nepali living abroad will also be able to acquire information online regarding the initiatives to address their complaints and problems. "
