Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Thailand has begun its two years' tenure with humanitarian work by donating 4 million Myanmar kyat (118,971 Thai Baht) in cash and relief materials worth 3.2 million kyat (95,000 Baht) for the recent Myanmar flood victims. The relief materials include blankets, clothes , dry foods and items of daily use.

According to a press statement issued by NRNA-Thailand chapter, the NRNA Thailand chapter conducted a relief collection campaign "Help Myanmar Flood Victims" for about a week in which Thailand-based Nepalis including NRNA Thailand founders, patrons, former presidents, advisors and Nepali professionals working in UN agencies and other organizations extended their helping hands.

NRN ICC President Shesh Ghale had also extended his personal contribution during his visit to National Coordination Council (NCC) in Bangkok a week ago. The devastating floods in Myanmar about three weeks ago had caused a huge damage in the country leaving scores of people dead or disappeared and thousands homeless. NRNA-Thailand elected Khagendra Raj Dhakal as president for a second term on August 1.

A team of NRNA Thailand had handed over the collected cash and relief goods to Thai Nepali Association (TNA), Thailand that has close connection to Myanmar as its majority of the members are Myanmar based Nepalis.
