17th SALAM Lecture Series
The 17th SALAM Lecture Series is being organised by the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS). The lecture will be held online on 21st March 2024, from 3.00 PM - 4.30 PM (IST). The Lecture will be delivered by Mr. Shantha Kulasekara (Head of Office / Senior Program Manager) IOM Sri Lanka and Maldives. The topic for the Lecture is “Migration Flows and Border Controls to Enhance the Benefits of Inward and Outward Migration: Lessons from Sri Lanka and Maldives" -
15th SALAM Lecture Series
Nepal has witnessed a significant outflow of its citizens in pursuit of better economic opportunities abroad. While these migrant workers contribute substantially to the national economy through remittances, their sacrifices come at a steep cost - their health and well-being. This lecture delves into the several health challenges confronting Nepali migrant workers, highlighting the physical, mental, and social aspects of their health. -

International Institute for Population Sciences under the aegis of the South Asia Center for Labour Mobility and Migrants (SALAM) is organising a five-day workshop on “Researching Labour Migration in South Asia: Data, Methods, and Theories”.
